An engineering leader
who still builds.
20+ years building distributed systems and leading engineering teams — from platforms serving 30 million devices at Comcast to an AI-native, five-codebase product shipped with a governed AI-agent engineering workflow.

Leadership at Scale. Close to the Architecture.
I started my career in a classroom. I taught high school math to students who were struggling to pass state graduation tests, and went on to teach more than 100 week-long programming courses in four countries. Teaching still shapes how I lead. Later, I went on to earn a master's degree in transpersonal psychology.
At Comcast, I grew from Senior Engineer to Director of Applications Engineering, leading 6 engineering and QA teams (46 people) across 5 time zones. I stayed close to the architecture throughout — I invented the Redirector, which scaled to 150M+ daily connections from 30M devices, and co-designed the patented "Lost and Found" WiFi onboarding that cut related support calls by 74%.
After Warner Bros. Discovery, where I led a team of solutions architects and support engineers through the Max launch, I took a deliberate year to retool: AWS Solutions Architect certification, the start of my deep learning coursework, and hands-on work with LLMs on Google Cloud.
Then I put it to work. At Voxivium I architected and shipped a multi-platform product — Go API, AI ingestion pipeline, Kotlin Multiplatform mobile app, and Next.js portals — by directing AI coding agents through a governed engineering workflow with tiered authorization, human-applied migrations, and commit-per-feature review.
I lead engineering organizations without stepping away from engineering.
Founder, CEO & Architect · July 2024 – Present
A platform that grades elected officials against each verified voter's own beliefs, using roll-call votes, executive actions, and AI analysis of legislation. Shipped on iOS (pending Apple review), Android, and web.
Five Production Codebases
~250K lines: Go API and AI ingestion pipeline, Kotlin Multiplatform client, Next.js politician portal and admin console, Astro marketing site — all deployed to AWS via Terraform.
Governed AI-Agent Workflow
Tiered action authorization, human-applied database migrations, and commit-per-feature review with Claude Code and Cursor — a multi-platform product delivered without a traditional engineering team.
Privacy in the Data Layer
Identity and belief data live in separate PostgreSQL databases, linked only by pseudonymous IDs and enforced by database roles that can't see each other's data.
Google Cloud for Identity & AI
Firebase Authentication across web and mobile, Gemini API (including Batch) for bill analysis, Pub/Sub push for Play billing events, and keyless service-account impersonation.
Every request enters through Cloudflare. Four front ends are static bundles on CloudFront and S3 calling one Go API on ECS Fargate. The API and nine scheduled ingest jobs share one PostgreSQL instance, but personal data lives in its own database behind a separate role. Open full size
One API, many clients
The Kotlin Multiplatform app (iOS, Android, and web), the politician portal, and the admin console all call the same Go service. Authorization happens on the server, so a front end never receives data it isn't allowed to show.
PII isolated by design
Names, birth dates, and addresses live in their own database. The main application role has no grants on it, so the database itself enforces the boundary.
Legislation pipeline
EventBridge Scheduler starts nine Fargate jobs that pull bills, votes, and candidates from public sources, classify each bill into belief domains with Gemini's Batch API, and recompute scores for every district.

Enterprise-scale systems, teams built and grown, and the people who worked alongside me.
Experience & Skills
20+ years in software engineering — from hands-on development to directing multi-team engineering organizations at Comcast, and now architecting and shipping AI-native products in Go, TypeScript, and Kotlin on AWS and Google and AWS Clouds.
